What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide basic analytics about how a site is being used.
In addition to cookies, websites also use localStorage — a browser feature that allows websites to store data on your device that persists across sessions. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never automatically sent to the server; it stays entirely on your device.
This policy explains both cookies and localStorage usage on Claude Skills Hub.
Cookies We Use
The table below summarises the storage mechanisms currently used on this site.
| Name | Type | Category | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
theme |
localStorage | Stores your light or dark theme preference so it is remembered on your next visit. | Until you clear browser storage | |
_ga, _gid |
Cookie | Used by Google Analytics (if enabled) to distinguish visitors and track page views. May be introduced in a future update. | 2 years / 24 hours | |
| Google Fonts | Third-party request | Fonts are loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log your IP address. No cookie is set by us; Google's own policies apply. |

Essential Cookies
The only data we store ourselves is your theme preference, which is saved in your browser's localStorage under the key theme with a value of either light or dark. This is set when you click the theme toggle button in the navigation bar.
This is not a tracking mechanism. The value is never transmitted to our servers, is not linked to any personal identifier, and is used solely to restore your visual preference the next time you visit the site. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data or local storage.
Because this storage is strictly necessary for a user-requested feature (theme switching), it does not require your consent under most privacy frameworks.
Analytics Cookies
We may use a privacy-friendly analytics solution to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate — for example, which pages are most popular, which guides are most read, and where visitors come from geographically at a country level. If analytics is enabled, it will be configured to:
- Anonymise IP addresses before storage.
- Not share data with advertising networks.
- Not build individual user profiles or track users across other sites.
- Respect browser "Do Not Track" signals where technically possible.
If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy with the specific provider and configuration details.
Third-Party Cookies
We use Google Fonts to load our typefaces (Bricolage Grotesque, DM Sans, and JetBrains Mono) from Google's CDN at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. When your browser requests these font files, Google may log your IP address and browser information in accordance with their own privacy policy.
We do not control this logging. If you are concerned about this, you can use a browser extension to block CDN font requests or disable Google Fonts loading via your browser's developer tools. The site will fall back to system fonts in that case.
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not use cookies from Facebook, advertising networks, social media trackers, or any other third-party tracking services.
How to Control Cookies
You have full control over cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Below are instructions for the most common browsers:
- Chrome Go to Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. You can delete existing cookies, block all cookies, or allow cookies only from specific sites.
- Firefox Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. You can clear stored data or set Firefox to clear cookies when it closes.
- Safari Go to Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data. You can remove stored data for individual sites or all sites at once.
- Edge Go to Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data. You can view, delete, or block cookies per site.
- Brave Go to Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies. Brave also has a built-in shields feature that blocks many trackers and third-party cookies by default.
To clear only this site's localStorage data (where your theme preference is stored), open your browser's Developer Tools (usually F12), go to the Application or Storage tab, select Local Storage, find the entry for this site, and delete the theme key.
Please note that blocking or deleting cookies and localStorage may affect the functionality of this site. In particular, your theme preference will not be remembered between sessions if you clear localStorage.
